Over Memorial Day Weekend, one barbecue joint walked away with the 'Greatest Barbecue Ribs in America' crown at the 18th Annual Marc's Great American Rib Cookoff in Cleveland...

Despite a tough field, Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que took the title with their signature ribs that are hand-rubbed with a secret blend of spices, pit-smoked for 3 - 4 hours, slathered in sauce and finished on the grill. The barbecue chain also took the prize for 'Greatest Sauce in America'.
Dave's Bar-B-Que battled against a formidable slate of national barbecue all-stars including Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ (NJ), Carolina Rib King (SC), Jack on the Bone (OH), Johnson's Q Colonel BBQ (VA), My Happy Place BBQ (OH), Pigfoot BBQ Company (OH), Sgt. Oinks BBQ Co. (OH), Sutphen's Texas Thunder (TX) and Texas Outlaw BBQ (KY).
Last year's winner was local favorite Smokin' Joe's Ribs from Ohio with the Carolina Rib King from South Carolina picked as fan favorite. About one million ribs were served up over the weekend, so if you want to attend the Great American Rib Cookoff next year, details are here.
Famous Dave's hails from Minnesota but has 170 locations across the country if you are curious to taste test the winner.

M&M Catering has the best ribs I've ever had the pleasure to meet. You know they're good because the place has about 20 smokers going and no dining room. Order from a window, take your ribs home, eat and pass out from the sheer force of the deliciousness. http://m-mcatering.com/

You have to include Blues City Cafe on the list... best ribs in Memphis, and IMO among the best in the country.
